15th IAPM ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING AND IAPM WORKSHOP
The IAPM are delighted to announce that the 15th Annual Scientific Meeting is set to take place in the Galmont Hotel, Lough Atalia Road, Galway on Friday, 27th March and Saturday, 28th March.

Abstracts
The abstract portal is open until Sunday 18th January 2026 (link below). Formatting guidelines are available on the portal and have also been distributed via the newsgroup.

The Galmont Hotel offers a 50% discount for all delegates, reducing the price from €3.00 down to €1.50 per hour. Delegates must present the car-parking ticket to the hotel reception to validate.
Xiel Bursary
Applications for the Xiel Bursary 2026 are now closed.
Xiel Ltd will be awarding a bursary of €500 to an IAPM trainee/student member or member with < 2 years experience to be used for continued professional development and conference/course attendance. The theme of this year’s bursary is ‘Advances of science in medical physics that directly benefit the patient pathway’.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, we ask that you submit your project abstract in addition to a PDF document containing a 1 page CV and 300 word statement describing how your abstract meets this year’s bursary theme to the abstract submission portal (don’t forget to tag your submission with the “Xiel Bursary” topic!).
Up to 10 candidates will be shortlisted from the submitted abstracts. If shortlisted you will present a 3 minute/3 slide oral presentation of your work at this year’s IAPM ASM in addition to a poster presentation which will be on display at the event.
Workshop – “When Radiotherapy Invades Your K-Space”
This year’s workshop will be held on Friday 27th March in the Radiation Oncology department, University Hospital Galway (UHG). As UHG has just installed a dedicated radiotherapy MRI simulator, the workshop aims to gather MRI physicists and enthusiasts from both the diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy planning spheres to share experiences and learn from each other.

Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will be held at the Galmont Hotel, located in the heart of Galway’s city centre. This hotel is close to the railway, bus and coach stations.
The dinner will take place at 7:30pm. You must purchase a dinner ticket on Eventbrite in order to attend the dinner.
