14th IAPM ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING AND IAPM WORKSHOP
The IAPM are delighted to announce that the 14th Annual Scientific Meeting is set to take place at Trinity Centre, St. James’s Hospital, Dublin 8 on Friday, 21st March and Saturday, 22nd March. Join us for a day of intellectual discussion, networking, and knowledge exchange!

Guest Speakers
Gregory James
Gregory is Head of Nuclear Medicine Physics at the Royal Stoke University Hospital NHS Trust, UK. He has recently been working on using Geant4 Monte Carlo simulations to assist with skin dose assessment from radionuclide contamination as well as dose assessments from extravasation of radiopharmaceuticals in patients.
Niall Sheehy
Dr Niall Sheehy is a Consultant Radiologist in St. James’s Hospital and The Beacon Clinic. His specialty areas include: radiology, cardiac imaging, PET-CT, neuroradiology, and nuclear medicine. He will be discussing the challenges of implementing AI in radiology.
Klaus Seiersen
Klaus Seiersen is a medical physicist working at the Danish Centre for Particle Therapy in Aarhus. He has almost 20 years of experience working with paediatric patients, and participated in the core team that established the Danish National Proton Therapy Centre, with the first patient being treated in 2019. He was president of the Danish Society for Medical Physics between 2015 and 2019, and has been on the Executive Committee of the Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) since 2014.

Abstracts
Abstract submissions are now closed. The deadline for submissions was Friday 31st January 2025. Thank you to all those who submitted abstracts for consideration.
Xiel Bursary
Applications for the Xiel Bursary 2025 are now closed.
Xiel Ltd will be awarding a bursary of €500 to an IAPM trainee/student member or member with < 2 years experience to be used for continued professional development and conference/course attendance. The theme of this year’s bursary is ‘Advances of science in medical physics that directly benefit the patient pathway’.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, we ask that you submit your project abstract in addition to a PDF document containing a 1 page CV and 300 word statement describing how your abstract meets this year’s bursary theme to the abstract submission portal (don’t forget to tag your submission with the “Xiel Bursary” topic!).
Up to 10 candidates will be shortlisted from the submitted abstracts. If shortlisted you will present a 3 minute/3 slide oral presentation of your work at this year’s IAPM ASM in addition to a poster presentation which will be on display at the event.
Accommodation
The Hilton Hotel in Kilmainham is a 20 minute walk away from the Trinity Centre. For those travelling from outside Dublin, the ASM organising committee have arranged for a number of rooms in the Hilton Hotel Kilmainham to be held at the following prices:
- King room for 1 person @ €185 per room per night
- King/Twin room for 2 people @ €205 per room per night
The hotel is holding these rooms for booking at these rates until 21/02/2025.
