SUMMARY:MR scanning of patients with Pacemakers and ICDs - Study day
DESCRIPTION:The aim of this event is to encourage hospital sites with a cardiology and radiology department in situ to carry out MRI scans on patients with MR conditional pacemakers and ICDs in situ.\nThe learning objectives of this event include:\nTo have a complete understanding of the policies and procedures required to safely scan patient’s with MR conditional devices in situ.\nTo be aware of the importance that the multidisciplinary team has to play in implementing these procedures successfully.\nTo comprehend the risks associated with scanning these patients\, the potential adverse effects and to be able to identify the patients that are not suitable for an MRI scan.\nTo acknowledge and understand the requirements in the preparation and aftercare that the patients with MR conditional devise must undergo to ensure the safety of the patient.\nTo accept the importance of providing an MRI service to patients with MR conditional devices in order to enable the highest level of patient care possible.
