SUMMARY:Radioactive Waste Advisers Training Course
DESCRIPTION:This course provides the theoretical background and training necessary for managing and giving advice on the use of sealed and unsealed radioactive sources in hospitals. \nThe three day-course covers all aspects of legislation and safe practice in the medical uses of radioactive substances. As well as lectures\, there will be workshop sessions which will help to reinforce the topics covered. \nThe course is at a level suitable for hospital physicists working in hospital radiation protection and is particularly suitable for those who wish to become Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA)\, and covers the Basic Underpinning Knowledge (Basic Syllabus) as set out in the RPA2000 Guidance. \nThe course is an IPEM approved external short course. \nA comprehensive course booklet and a certificate of attendance is provided. Those wishing to use the course towards RWA certification can sit an optional marked short exam. \nSee the event website for more details and application forms.
